It is bottled at 44% ABV.

The Barricas Series is Alma del Jaguar's collection of experimental cask finishes from around the world, released in late 2025 in runs of fewer than 9,000 bottles across all expressions combined. This edition draws on France, pairing traditional cooked agave with the character of the cask. Alma del Jaguar is also known for its commitment to protecting the jaguar in Mexico.

Expect a rich, autumnal profile of baked apple, cinnamon, agave, caramel and vanilla, like a liquid apple cobbler, with baked pear and gentle wood tannins. It benefits from a few minutes to breathe in the glass.

The jaguar label makes it a distinctive gift for tequila lovers and collectors of the series.

Sip it neat from a copita or snifter.

Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.

Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Baked apple, pear and cinnamon.

Palate: Agave, caramel and vanilla.

Finish: Warm and lingering.

Specifications

Producer: Alma del Jaguar

Style: Añejo Tequila

Expression / Batch: Barricas Series, Apple Brandy Cask

Proof / ABV: 88 proof (44% ABV)

Cask / Finish: Apple Brandy Cask

Region: Jalisco Highlands, Mexico

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat at room temperature.
