bayab-african-classic-dry-gin-750ml
Bayab African Classic Dry Gin 750ml

Bayab African Classic Dry is a small-batch, citrus-forward gin distilled in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, with botanicals sourced from seven African countries and baobab fruit at its heart, bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV).

The baobab, Africa's ancient superfruit, is the botanical at the heart of Bayab. Known as the Tree of Life, a baobab can store up to 120,000 liters of water in its trunk, and its local nickname, the upside-down tree, inspires the silhouette on the bottle. The brand is B Corp certified and helps fund baobab reforestation, so every bottle supports a better Africa.

Classic Dry is a classic gin with a subtle African twist: Ghanaian baobab is infused with juniper berries, coriander, rosemary, cinnamon and coarse salt from across the continent, giving a bold burst of fresh African citrus. The baobab fruit itself, sourced from Ghana and Zambia, brings a bright citrus flavor found in no other gin; it is naturally packed with antioxidants and more vitamin C than oranges, from a tree that can live for 5,000 years.

Bright citrus snap and soft juniper spice meet the subtle tartness of baobab fruit. Zesty orange and lemon peel lead into gently aromatic spice, soft herbs and crisp, peppery juniper, with warm coriander and a rounded mid-palate sweetness, finishing crisp and gently dry. Mid-dry in style, it is clean, balanced and deceptively complex.

It is an everyday Gin & Tonic elevated: serve it with tonic and a lemon peel, try the signature serve with ginger beer, simple syrup and a lemon wheel, or stir a classic Martini.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Orange and lemon peel, coriander, juniper.

Palate: Citrus snap, baobab tartness, soft herbs, peppery juniper.

Finish: Crisp and gently dry.

Specifications

Distillery: KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Key botanical: Baobab fruit

Botanicals: Baobab, juniper, coriander, rosemary, cinnamon, coarse salt

Style: Classic dry gin, small batch

Proof / ABV: 86 proof (43% ABV)

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Mix a Gin & Tonic with lemon peel, or stir a classic Martini.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is baobab?
Africa's ancient superfruit, from the tree known as the Tree of Life.

Where is it made?
In KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

What does it taste like?
Bright citrus, soft juniper and a subtle baobab tartness.

Explore more in our Gin collection.
