The label art was drawn by Dave Brockie, who played Oderus Urungus, and the bottle is crowned with a commemorative pewter top. The release was limited to around 200 cases.

The combination of rye spice, the soft sweetness of maple and cherrywood and a touch of rum-cask richness gives a bold, characterful whisky fit for its namesake.

With Brockie's artwork and the sculpted pewter top, it is a true collector's piece for whiskey and metal fans alike.

Enjoy it neat, on the rocks or in a rye Manhattan.

American rye whiskey is made from a mash of at least 51% rye and aged in new charred oak, giving it a spicier, drier character than bourbon, with notes of pepper, herbs and baking spice.

Rye whiskey is defined by its grain: a mash of at least 51% rye, which gives a spicier, drier and more peppery character than corn-led bourbon. Rye's bold profile makes it the classic base for a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned, yet well-aged and higher-proof ryes reward slow sipping just as much.

A 100% rye mash bill is the most intense expression of the grain, with no corn or barley to soften it, so the flavour of the rye itself comes through clearly.

Tasting Notes

Grain: 100% rye.

Wood: White oak, sugar maple and cherrywood.

Finish: A rum-finished barrel in the blend.

Specifications

Producer: Catoctin Creek Distilling Company

Style: Rye Whisky

Expression / Batch: Ragnarök Rye, Oderus Edition

Mash Bill: 100% rye

Proof / ABV: 92 proof (46% ABV)

Cask / Finish: White oak, sugar maple and cherrywood, with a rum-finished barrel

Region: Virginia, United States

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Enjoy it neat, on the rocks or in a rye Manhattan.
