Most of the distillery was spared, but much of its cask storage was lost, and cellar master Cyril Mangal had to find room for aging barrels in the most unusual places. Some of those casks were tucked away and forgotten, only to be rediscovered later holding rum too old for the original Chairman's Reserve blend, so it was released on its own as an extra-aged Chairman's Reserve.
