The Triticale combines rye's peppery boldness with the subtle refinement and soft body of wheat, making it one of the most distinctive American whiskeys in production.

Amber in the glass, it shows white pepper and stone fruit on the nose with caramel, ripe red apple and peanut. The palate brings wheat bread, coffee-cedar, bright tangerine and new leather, finishing round and soft with lingering spice.

The fly-fishing label makes it a unique gift for Northwest whiskey fans.

Straight whiskey must age at least two years in new charred oak.

Triticale yields the bread-like body of wheat with rye's spice.

A splash of water opens up the stone fruit.

It pairs with smoked salmon, roasted nuts or aged cheddar.

It is a conversation-starting gift for whiskey explorers.

Fly fishers and Northwest fans will enjoy the story.

Try it in a Manhattan for a spicy twist.

Tasting Notes

Nose: White pepper, stone fruit, caramel, red apple.

Palate: Wheat bread, coffee-cedar, tangerine, leather.

Finish: Round, soft, lingering spice.

Specifications

Distillery: Dry Fly Distilling, Spokane, Washington

Style: Straight triticale whiskey

Grain: Triticale (wheat-rye hybrid)

Age: 3 years, new 53-gallon American oak

ABV: 45%

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Try it in your next Old Fashioned, or sip it neat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is triticale?
A hybrid of wheat and rye developed in Scotland in the late 1800s.

How old is it?
Three years in new American oak.

How does it taste?
Pepper, stone fruit, wheat bread and bright citrus.

Explore more in our American Whiskey collection.
