Diamond houses a collection of historic stills salvaged from long-closed sugar estates, among them the original wooden Coffey still from the former Enmore estate, one of the last operational wooden stills in the world. EHP is the marque that identifies its rum.

The Single Barrel series bottles a single distillate from one still, so each rum shows the character of its marque, and single barrel bottlings may vary from bottle to bottle.

The nose is fruity, with rich molasses, and the palate is rounded and medium-bodied, with an almost creamy mouthfeel.

A fine gift for rum enthusiasts exploring the classic Demerara marques. Enjoy it neat or over a large ice cube.

Aged rum is one of the most diverse spirits in the world, shaped by the sugarcane, the still and the warm climates where it matures, which speed up the interaction between spirit and wood.

Demerara rum takes its name from the Demerara River region of Guyana, where rum has been made from local sugarcane molasses for centuries. Single-marque bottlings like this one let you taste one historic still on its own, rather than the blend of several stills found in most aged rums.

Tasting Notes

Still: Enmore wooden Coffey still (EHP marque).

Nose: Fruity, with rich molasses.

Palate: Rounded, medium-bodied and almost creamy.

Specifications

Producer: Demerara Distillers Limited, Diamond Distillery

Style: Demerara Rum, Single Barrel

Still: Enmore wooden Coffey still (EHP)

Proof / ABV: 80 proof (40% ABV)

Region: Demerara, Guyana

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Enjoy it neat or over a large ice cube.
