The Edward Henry Porter (EHP) wooden continuous Coffey still was built at the Enmore Estate in 1880; when the estate closed in 1990 it moved to Diamond, and it is the last surviving wooden still operating in the world today.

Distilled in 2009 and aged twelve years, this rum carries notes of smoked hazelnuts, caramel apples, coconut flakes and milk chocolate.

A single still and a single vintage, it is a collector's gift for rum lovers.

Enjoy it neat or with a single ice cube.

Aged rum is one of the most diverse spirits in the world, shaped by the sugarcane, the still and the warm climates where it matures, which speed up the interaction between spirit and wood.

A Coffey still is a continuous column still, invented in the 1830s, which can distil without stopping. Enmore's is built of wood rather than copper, which gives its rum a richer, fuller texture than a modern column still, and single-still bottlings let you taste that character on its own.

Tasting Notes

Still: Enmore EHP wooden Coffey still, built 1880.

Notes: Smoked hazelnuts, caramel apples, coconut and milk chocolate.

Age: 12 years, distilled 2009.

Specifications

Producer: Demerara Distillers Limited, Diamond Distillery

Style: Demerara Rum, Single Still

Still: Enmore wooden Coffey still (EHP)

Age: 12 years (2009)

Proof / ABV: 80 proof (40% ABV)

Region: Demerara, Guyana

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Enjoy it neat or with a single ice cube.
