It pays tribute to one of the most memorable nights in UFC history, which took place in Las Vegas on July 6, 2019. In honour of that fight, the mezcal was aged five months in new American oak and finished in the bottle with five gusanos, and only 5,000 bottles were produced.

It pours a golden hue from its time in oak. The aroma brings cooked agave with a harmonious blend of herbal, citrus and vanilla notes and subtle smoke, and the finish begins with a slight astringency before a spicy, pleasingly fiery crescendo that lingers.

A collectible for fight fans and mezcal lovers alike, it makes a memorable gift.

Mezcal is made by roasting agave hearts, traditionally in earthen pits, then crushing, fermenting and distilling them, a process that gives the spirit its characteristic smoky depth. Each agave variety and each village brings its own character, which is why enthusiasts love exploring small-batch bottlings.

Mezcal and other agave spirits are traditionally sipped from a copita or a small clay cup, in small sips, often alongside orange slices dusted with sal de gusano. Many are made in tiny batches by individual families, so each bottle is a snapshot of a particular place, agave and season.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Cooked agave, herbs, citrus, vanilla and subtle smoke.

Colour: Golden, from oak.

Finish: Spicy and pleasingly fiery.

Specifications

Producer: El Recuerdo (Casa Armando Guillermo Prieto)

Style: Mezcal Reposado, limited edition

Agave: 100% Espadín

Age: 5 months in new American oak

Proof / ABV: 80 proof (40% ABV)

Region: Oaxaca, Mexico

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat from a copita with orange slices.
