forthwest-whisky-co-giant-peach-canadian-whisky-700ml
Forthwest Whisky Co. Giant Peach Canadian Whisky 700ml

Forthwest Giant Peach is a fruit-forward flavored whisky that infuses a smooth Canadian whisky base with a proprietary blend of natural peach flavors, bottled at a full 80 proof (40% ABV) in a 700ml bottle made from 100% recycled glass.

Forthwest Whisky Co. was launched in spring 2023 by Hood River Distillers in Oregon, with three flavored whiskies, Giant Peach, Shiny Apple and Spice of Life, alongside a blended Canadian whisky. The label calls it good-natured, and the brand's eco-conscious approach shows in its recycled glass bottle.

The base is a smooth Canadian whisky, brought to Oregon and finished at Hood River Distillers with glacier-fed spring water from Mt. Hood. It is infused with proprietary natural peach flavor extracts rather than generic, off-the-shelf ingredients, and unlike many flavored whiskies it keeps a full 80-proof strength.

Expect ripe, juicy peach on the nose, a palate of sweet peach and stone fruit over vanilla and light oak from the whisky, and a warm, fruity finish.

Giant Peach shines in summer drinks. Mix it with iced tea and lemon for a peach whisky tea, top it with ginger ale or soda water for a bright highball, or shake it with lemon juice and simple syrup for a peach Whiskey Sour. It makes a fun twist on an Old Fashioned with a dash of bitters, and a splash in sparkling wine is lovely for brunch. Serve it chilled as a shot or over ice. Pair it with grilled pork chops, barbecue chicken, peach cobbler or vanilla ice cream. The handsome bottle, with its vintage-style label and green glass base, makes Giant Peach a great gift for whisky drinkers who like a little fruit.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Ripe, juicy peach.

Palate: Sweet peach, vanilla, light oak.

Finish: Warm and fruity.

Specifications

Producer: Forthwest Whisky Co.
