It makes a smooth Old Fashioned with demerara and Angostura, a classic Whisky Sour, and a Lynchburg-style lemonade with triple sec and lemon-lime soda. Mix it with ginger ale or cola over ice for an easy highball. For a crowd, mix a pitcher of Dickel with lemonade, a splash of orange liqueur and plenty of ice and lemon wheels. Pair it with smoked brisket, barbecue chicken, cornbread, pecan pie and aged cheddar. For a gathering, chill the bottle and set out glasses, ice and garnishes so guests can serve themselves. A bottle also makes a thoughtful host gift for a dinner party or the holidays.

Frequently Asked Questions

What was it called before?
George Dickel No. 12.

What is the mash bill?
84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley.

How strong is it?
It is bottled at 45% ABV, or 90 proof.

Explore more in our American Whiskey collection.
