henebery-dare-maxima-virtus-old-fashioned-rye-whiskey-750ml
Henebery Dare Maxima Virtus Old Fashioned Rye Whiskey 750ml

Henebery Old Fashioned is a California rye whiskey with natural flavors, built on Henebery's spiced rye and finished to drink like a balanced Old Fashioned, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV).

Henebery Spirits honors Matthew Henebery, an Irish immigrant whose spirit of daring lives on in the brand's motto, Dare Maxima Virtus. Jesse Fanning refined the recipe in his honor, and the label celebrates the Spirited Citizens who have raised a glass since 1851.

The whiskey starts from a base mash of 95% rye and 5% barley. Henebery then layers in natural botanicals, citrus and spices through a patent-pending infusion process, with no artificial flavors, so the bitter-and-sweet balance of the classic cocktail is already in the bottle.

Expect rye spice and orange peel on the nose, a palate of warm baking spice, gentle sweetness and a bitter edge like aromatic bitters, and a smooth, lingering finish.

Pour it over a large ice cube with a twist of orange peel for an instant Old Fashioned, no sugar or bitters needed. Garnish with a cocktail cherry for a classic touch, or stir it with ice and strain it into a chilled coupe for a silky, spirit-forward serve. It also mixes well with ginger ale or soda water for a long, refreshing highball, and a splash adds depth to hot apple cider on cold evenings. Pair it with smoked meats, aged cheddar, dark chocolate or pecan pie. It is a smart gift for the whiskey fan who loves an Old Fashioned but does not always want to build one from scratch.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rye spice, orange peel.

Palate: Baking spice, sweetness, bitter edge.

Finish: Smooth and lingering.

Specifications

Producer: Henebery Spirits, California

Base mash: 95% rye, 5% barley

Flavor: Natural botanicals, citrus and spices

Style: Rye whiskey with natural flavors

Proof / ABV: 90 proof (45% ABV)

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Pour it over a large cube with an orange twist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a cocktail or a whiskey?
A rye whiskey with natural flavors, finished to taste like an Old Fashioned.

Does it contain artificial flavors?
No, only natural botanicals, citrus and spices.

How strong is it?
90 proof (45% ABV).

Explore more in our American Whiskey collection.
