la-venenosa-etnica-tepe-destilado-de-agave-750ml
La Venenosa Étnica Tepe Destilado de Agave 750ml

La Venenosa Étnica Tepe is a rare agave spirit from La Venenosa's Étnica collection, which highlights the distilling traditions of Mexico's indigenous cultures. Made in the Tepehuano (Ódami) style, it is bottled unaged at 43.9% ABV.

This bottling was made in Las Cuevitas, Zacatecas, by Pablo Galván from Agave angustifolia. The agave is cooked underground, milled by hand, fermented in a water tank and double distilled in the Tepehuano manner, a traditional process passed down through generations.

The Tepehuano style is bright, clean and mineral-driven, with forest-like freshness rather than heavy smoke. Tasters find sour candy, lemon-lime and green pepper on the nose, a juicy, candied-citrus palate with freshly cut grass, and touches of poblano, roasted corn and earthy agave.

The tall bottle features La Venenosa's spiral emblem on a natural label, a fitting design for a spirit rooted in indigenous tradition. It is a treasured find for collectors of rare agave spirits.

Sip it slowly and appreciate a style of distilling few people ever get to taste.

Mezcal is made by roasting agave hearts, traditionally in earthen pits, then crushing, fermenting and distilling them, a process that gives the spirit its characteristic smoky depth. Each agave variety and each village brings its own character, which is why enthusiasts love exploring small-batch bottlings.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sour candy, lemon-lime and green pepper.

Palate: Juicy candied citrus and freshly cut grass.

Finish: Clean and mineral.

Specifications

Producer: La Venenosa (Pablo Galván)

Style: Destilado de Agave, Tepehuano style

Expression / Batch: Étnica Tepe

Proof / ABV: 87.8 proof (43.9% ABV)

Cask / Finish: Agave angustifolia; underground cooked, double distilled; unaged

Region: Las Cuevitas, Zacatecas, Mexico

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it slowly from a copita at room temperature.
