Laws fell in love with how it ferments and distils into a terroir-driven, unapologetic whiskey. For the cask strength release, Laws selects and marries individual barrels to fully express the robust flavours of this semi-wild rye, aged three years or more in new 53-gallon charred oak barrels.

Every batch has its own aromas and flavours. Laws' San Luis Valley rye is known for floral, perfumed aromas with baking spice and orange oil, and flavours of black tea, sweet mint, salted toffee, orange peel and stewed fig with a radiant green peppercorn spice, amplified here at full strength.

A batch-numbered cask strength rye, it makes a fine gift for rye enthusiasts.

Sip it neat, then add water a few drops at a time.

American rye whiskey is made from a mash of at least 51% rye and aged in new charred oak, giving it a spicier, drier character than bourbon, with notes of pepper, herbs and baking spice.

Tasting Notes

Grain: 100% heirloom San Luis Valley rye.

Character: Floral, spicy and terroir-driven.

Strength: Cask strength, 120.6 proof.

Specifications

Producer: Laws Whiskey House

Style: Straight Rye Whiskey, Cask Strength

Expression / Batch: San Luis Valley Cask, Batch B-22

Age: 3+ years

Proof / ABV: 120.6 proof (60.3% ABV)

Mash Bill: 100% heirloom rye

Cask / Finish: New 53-gallon charred oak

Region: Colorado, United States

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat with a few drops of water.
