lyre-thief-strut-american-whiskey-750ml
Lyre & Thief STRUT American Whiskey 750ml

STRUT Whiskey from Lyre & Thief is an American whiskey made with music: the slow, steady beat of Outlaw Country is used during fermentation to create a smooth sipping whiskey with bold hints of vanilla and caramel, bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV).

Lyre & Thief developed patented technology that uses music to create new taste profiles in alcohol. This is not a matter of playing music to whiskey after it is already in the barrel: the Lyre & Thief process uses the actual beat of music to speed up or slow down the rate of fermentation. Slow, steady beats create a sweeter, smoother result, while faster rhythms produce something different.

To show how music alone can create one-of-a-kind flavor profiles, Lyre & Thief built three standalone brands, each born from a different style of music. STRUT is the whiskey, and its soundtrack is Outlaw Country; a sister brand uses the rhythms of Mexican music to make a smooth tequila spirit with the same vanilla and caramel character. It is the only whiskey in America that gets its taste straight from country music.

STRUT is whiskey from grain, created with music, with no syrups, no flavorings and no additives. The nose is filled with honey, caramel, vanilla and molasses, and the taste is rich and smooth, with hints of spice, brown sugar and tobacco.

Tasting is believing: pour it neat or on the rocks, or build a smooth Old Fashioned with an orange peel, and go ahead and get your strut on.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Honey, caramel, vanilla, molasses.

Palate: Rich and smooth; spice, brown sugar, tobacco.

Finish: Smooth and sweet.

Specifications

Producer: Lyre & Thief

Style: American whiskey

Process: Patented music-driven fermentation (Outlaw Country)

Additives: None

Proof / ABV: 86 proof (43% ABV)

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat or on the rocks, or stir an Old Fashioned.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is music used?
The beat of the music alters the rate of fermentation.

Which music?
The slow, steady beat of Outlaw Country.

Are there additives?
No syrups, flavorings or additives.

Explore more in our American Whiskey collection.
