The set marked the release of Martingale's smaller bottle in October 2024 and includes a hand-numbered card as proof of provenance.

The result is a fresh, bright and fragrant Cognac, built for a modern palate and inspired by the world of fine wine.

A numbered, presentation-boxed set, it makes an exceptional gift.

Pour it into the etched glass and sip it neat.

Cognac must be made from white grapes grown in the Cognac region of France, double distilled in copper pot stills and aged in French oak, with age categories such as VSOP and XO describing the minimum age of the youngest brandy in the blend.

Cognac is a grape brandy from the Cognac region of western France, double distilled in copper pot stills and aged in French oak; its vineyards are divided into crus, of which Grande Champagne and Borderies are among the most prized.

The Borderies is the smallest Cognac cru, known for round, floral eaux-de-vie with notes of violet and nuts, while Grande Champagne brings finesse and length.

Boisé is an oak extract that some houses add to give Cognac colour and woody flavour; leaving it out lets the character of the grapes and casks speak for itself.

Tasting Notes

Style: Fresh, bright and fragrant.

Crus: Borderies-led, with Grande Champagne.

Purity: No additives, no boisé.

Specifications

Producer: Thomas family (Martingale)

Style: Cognac

Expression / Batch: Gift set, 1,500 hand-numbered

Proof / ABV: 80 proof (40% ABV)

Contents: 375ml bottle, etched tasting glass, numbered card, wooden box

Region: Cognac, France

Size: 375ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat from the etched glass.
