After full maturation in charred new American oak, the rye is finished in a fresh barrel with a char 2 and heavy toast.

While each bottle's profile varies, the toasting process imbues deep notes of vanilla, adding another dimension to Penelope's signature flavour profile.

Penelope Bourbon was founded in 2018 by two lifelong friends, Mike and Danny. A one-of-a-kind bottle, it makes a fine gift for rye lovers.

Enjoy it neat or in a Manhattan.

American rye whiskey is made from a mash of at least 51% rye and aged in new charred oak, giving it a spicier, drier character than bourbon, with notes of pepper, herbs and baking spice.

A straight rye whiskey is made from at least 51% rye and aged at least two years in new charred oak containers.

Toasting a barrel heats the wood more gently than charring, caramelising its sugars into vanilla and sweet spice.

Non-chill filtering keeps the whiskey's natural oils for a fuller texture.

Tasting Notes

Base: 95% rye spice.

Finish: Deep vanilla from a heavy-toast barrel.

Character: Varies barrel to barrel.

Specifications

Producer: Penelope Bourbon

Style: Straight Rye Whiskey, toasted barrel finish

Mash Bill: 95% rye, 5% malted barley

Proof / ABV: 100 proof (50% ABV)

Cask / Finish: Charred new oak, finished in char 2 heavy-toast barrel

Filtration: Non-chill filtered

Region: United States

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Enjoy it neat or in a Manhattan.
