Whisky Advocate scored the release 92 points.

Spice and floral notes rise from the glass, with flavours of dried fruit, nutmeg and mint, complemented by sweetness and full bourbon flavours of vanilla and tobacco. There is also toasted almond, hazelnut and butterscotch on the nose, clementine and mandarin peel turning spicy on the palate, and dark chocolate and espresso on the finish.

The striking bottle with its red stopper makes it a fine gift for whiskey collectors.

A drop of water opens up its intensity.

American whiskey covers a wide range of styles, from bourbon and rye to single malts and light whiskeys, and independent blenders and small producers have made it one of the most exciting categories in spirits.

Blending whiskeys of different ages lets the younger components bring spice and energy while the older ones add depth and oak, and bottling at barrel proof keeps every layer intact.
