Master Blender David McCabe travelled to source casks from the bodegas of Spain and the quintas of Portugal to explore and expand Redbreast's sherried flavours. For this edition, Redbreast's single pot still whiskey, made from malted and unmalted barley, was first matured in ex-American whiskey casks and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, then given an extended finish in casks seasoned with Moscatel wine from the hills of Málaga.

The Moscatel brings a bright, Mediterranean character to the signature creamy Redbreast style, adding honeyed aromatics, ripe stone fruit and a floral sweetness over classic pot still spice, with a long, warming finish.

A limited edition from one of Ireland's most loved whiskeys, it is a beautiful gift.

Enjoy it neat, or with a drop of water.

Single pot still whiskey is a uniquely Irish style, distilled from a mash of malted and unmalted barley in copper pot stills. The unmalted barley gives the whiskey its creamy, oily texture and spicy character, which is why Redbreast pairs so naturally with rich wine and sherry casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Honey, ripe stone fruit and floral sweetness.

Palate: Creamy pot still spice with apricot, fig and Moscatel grape.

Finish: Long and warming.

Specifications

Producer: Redbreast (Irish Distillers, Midleton)

Style: Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

Expression / Batch: Iberian Series No. 5, Moscatel Wine Cask Edition

Proof / ABV: 92 proof (46% ABV)

Cask / Finish: Ex-American whiskey and Oloroso casks, finished in Málaga Moscatel casks

Region: Ireland

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Enjoy it neat or with a drop of water.
