The mash is 95% rye and 5% barley malt, aged over two years. Each bottle is hand finished with a wax seal and individually signed by the bottler, and River Basin partners with the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, donating a portion of proceeds to preserving the wetlands.

It embodies the fiery spirit of the French Quarter with a Big Easy finish of vanilla, cinnamon, caramel and clove. The nose is floral with hints of citrus peel and white pepper; the palate offers delicate sweetness and soft vanilla; the finish is crisp and smooth with spice and caramel throughout.

The hand-waxed, signed bottle makes a thoughtful gift.

American rye whiskey is made from a mash of at least 51% rye and aged in new charred oak, giving it a spicier, drier character than bourbon, with notes of pepper, herbs and baking spice.

The Sazerac, born in New Orleans, is traditionally made with rye whiskey, making this bottle a natural fit for the classic.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Florals, citrus peel, white pepper.

Palate: Delicate sweetness and soft vanilla.

Finish: Vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, clove.

Specifications

Distillery: River Basin Distillery

Style: Rye whiskey

Mash Bill: 95% rye, 5% barley malt

Age: 2+ years in new American white oak

Bottled: New Orleans, Louisiana

Proof / ABV: 94 proof (47% ABV)

Region: USA

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat or stir a Sazerac, the New Orleans classic.
