London Dry Gin 750ml

Sipsmith V.J.O.P., short for Very Junipery Over Proof, is a bold, navy-strength London Dry gin from the Sipsmith distillery in London, bottled at 115.4 proof (57.7% ABV).

It starts with Sipsmith's classic London Dry recipe of ten botanicals, including English and Bulgarian coriander, orange peel and lemon peel, then doubles the juniper. Juniper goes in at three stages: macerated for three days, added again in the copper pot still, and vapor-infused through a Carter Head, so the flavor hits with maximum intensity.

The nose shows pine and cedar with a hint of zesty orange. The palate is rich and full of juniper, backed by warm spice and a touch of dark chocolate, and the finish is long, slow and dry. It won Silver Outstanding at the 2014 International Wine & Spirit Competition and Silver at the 2018 International Spirits Challenge.

It is a must-have gift for juniper-loving gin purists.

Navy-strength gins carry their botanicals boldly, even when diluted with tonic or vermouth.

Its intense juniper makes it a favorite of bartenders for classic cocktails.

A few drops of water open the citrus and spice.

Try it in a Gimlet with fresh lime cordial.

It is a gift that gin enthusiasts will remember.

A Martini made with V.J.O.P. and a lemon twist is a juniper lover's dream.

Serve it well chilled to tame the strength and highlight the pine.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Pine, cedar, zesty orange.

Palate: Rich juniper, warm spice, dark chocolate.

Finish: Long, slow and dry.

Specifications

Distillery: Sipsmith, London

Style: Navy-strength London Dry gin

Juniper: Doubled, added at three stages

Botanicals: Ten, incl. coriander, orange and lemon peel

Proof / ABV: 115.4 proof (57.7% ABV)

Region: England

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Stir a powerful Martini or Negroni, or make a bold gin and tonic with an orange twist.
