Melbourne's famously changeable weather, often four seasons in one day, speeds up maturation. Stout Cask is a first-of-its-kind marriage of craft distilling and craft brewing.

The result is rich, dark and delicious, with a punchy proof reinforced by coffee and dark chocolate notes that meld beautifully with the thickness of the stout influence.

A distinctive Australian malt, it makes a memorable gift for whisky and craft beer lovers.

Sip it neat, then add a few drops of water.

Australian whisky is a young and dynamic category, and Starward is one of its best-known producers, celebrated for using Australian wine barrels to give its single malts a rich, fruity character.

Imperial stout is a strong, dark beer brewed with heavily roasted malts, and barrels that held it pass on coffee, cocoa and a creamy weight to the whisky.

At 52% ABV, a few drops of water soften the heat and bring the chocolate and fruit forward.

Australian single malt, like Scotch, is made from 100% malted barley at a single distillery, but Australian distillers are free to experiment with casks and climate, which has made the category one of the most exciting in world whisky.

Tasting Notes

Notes: Coffee and dark chocolate.

Texture: Thick and rich.

Cask: Wine casks, then imperial stout barrels.

Specifications

Producer: Starward Distillery

Style: Australian Single Malt Whisky

Proof / ABV: 104 proof (52% ABV)

Cask / Finish: Australian wine casks, then imperial stout barrels

Region: Melbourne, Australia

Size: 700ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat or with a little water.
