tequila-ocho-plata-single-estate-750ml
Tequila Ocho Plata Single Estate 750ml

Tequila Ocho Plata is a single-estate, 100% blue Weber agave blanco from the highlands of Arandas, Jalisco, crafted by master distiller Carlos Camarena (NOM 1474) and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).

Founded in 2008 by Carlos Camarena, a third-generation tequilero, and the late Tomas Estes, Tequila Ocho was the first tequila to name both the single field (rancho) and the harvest year of its agave on every label, pioneering the estate tequila category. Each vintage comes from a different family-grown field, so every release shows the terroir of that place, much like fine wine. It is made slowly in the old-fashioned way at Los Alambiques in Arandas from fully mature highland agave.

Crisp, bright agave leads the aroma with lively citrus and fresh herbaceousness, including white pepper and minerality. The taste is full and complex, with cooked agave developing front to back alongside fresh-cut grass and a touch of earthiness. Crystal clear and explosive to sip, it has a thick, viscous mouthfeel and a long, harmonious finish.

Its elegant estate label makes it a collector-worthy gift.

Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Bright agave, citrus, white pepper, minerality.

Taste: Cooked agave, fresh-cut grass, earthiness.

Finish: Long, viscous, harmonious.

Specifications

Brand: Tequila Ocho

Master Distiller: Carlos Camarena

NOM: 1474

Style: Blanco tequila, single estate

Agave: 100% blue Weber, highland

Proof / ABV: 80 proof (40% ABV)

Region: Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat at room temperature or on a single large cube, or use it in a spirit-forward Margarita.
