It marks a milestone for the distillery: it is the first Macallan whisky shaped by casks seasoned with sherry from the Valdespino bodega in Jerez, which joined the Macallan family in 2023. It is bottled at 44.8% ABV in the collection's signature circular decanter.

Sherry casks have defined The Macallan's style for generations, and with Valdespino the distillery now has a historic sherry bodega of its own. The whisky was matured mostly in European oak sherry casks before being married in casks from the first 200 seasoned at Valdespino, which were shipped to Scotland and filled in 2024, The Macallan's 200th anniversary year. The result is a deep, fruit-rich single malt that celebrates the link between Speyside and Andalusia.

The presentation is as distinctive as the whisky. The round TIME : SPACE decanter, with its open centre, represents the continuous flow of time, and this edition arrives in a vivid yellow presentation box inspired by the Andalusian sun and the Palomino grapes used to make sherry. It is a standout piece for any Macallan collection.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sherry-soaked raisins, figs and medjool dates.

Palate: Dried fruits, rich ginger cake, treacle toffee, bramble jam and chocolate-coated cherries.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering dried fruit and toffee.

Specifications

Producer: The Macallan

Style: Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Expression / Batch: TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask, third release in the TIME : SPACE Collection

Age: 20 years

Proof / ABV: 89.6 proof (44.8% ABV)

Cask / Finish: European oak sherry casks, married in casks seasoned at the Valdespino bodega

Region: Speyside, Scotland

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Pour it neat into a nosing glass and allow a few minutes for the dried fruit and toffee to open.
