the-muff-liquor-company-irish-potato-gin-700ml
The Muff Liquor Company Irish Potato Gin 700ml

Muff Irish Gin is a smooth, low-juniper potato gin from The Muff Liquor Company in the village of Muff, County Donegal, Ireland, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). This is the 700ml bottle.

The gin is inspired by the village of Muff and by the founder's grandfather, Philip McClenaghan, a local potato farmer in the early part of the 20th century. It was the company's first spirit, launched in February 2018, and it has gone on to win multiple awards. It is distilled using four different types of potatoes.

The journey of Muff Gin begins with a multi-award-winning potato base, distilled six times and micro-filtered. A blend of botanicals, including mandarin, juniper berries, citrus peel, elderflower and rosemary, is cold infused overnight in the potato spirit, allowing the essences to mingle. It is then cut to 40% ABV, and a hint of Champagne extract is blended in, adding a subtle effervescence.

The result is an incredibly smooth gin with a low juniper profile and layers of complex flavor: bright mandarin and citrus, soft elderflower and a savory touch of rosemary over a silky potato base.

Muff Gin is a true testament to The Muff Liquor Company's commitment to quality and innovation: a handcrafted spirit that brings together traditional distilling techniques and carefully selected botanicals, built on the same high-quality potato spirit as the company's vodka. Serve it the way the distillery recommends, over ice with premium tonic, a slice of orange and a sprig of rosemary, which draws out the mandarin and herbal notes.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Mandarin, citrus peel, elderflower.

Palate: Silky, citrus and rosemary, gentle juniper.

Finish: Smooth and layered.

Specifications

Producer: The Muff Liquor Company, Muff, Co.
