tonino-lamborghini-extra-anejo-tequila-750ml
Tonino Lamborghini Extra Añejo Tequila 750ml

Tonino Lamborghini Extra Añejo is the flagship of the Tonino Lamborghini spirits line, designed to embody Italian luxury through Mexican craftsmanship. A blend of lowland and highland agave, cooked in both traditional brick ovens and autoclaves, it is aged in American whiskey barrels and bottled at 40% ABV.

Tonino Lamborghini, son of the founder of the famous Italian car maker, built a luxury brand spanning design and lifestyle, and its tequila brings the same sense of style to agave. The extra añejo's extended ageing gives it a rich, dessert-like profile.

On the nose come caramel and vanilla with oak, and the palate brings caramel, vanilla and cooked agave, leading to a long, warming finish.

The tall, dark bottle with its bronze bull emblem is a striking piece for any bar and a natural gift for car enthusiasts and lovers of fine tequila.

Sip it neat from a snifter to enjoy its rich, rounded character.

Extra añejo is the most mature category of tequila, created in 2006 for tequilas aged more than three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres. The long rest softens the agave's natural pepper and brings out caramel, vanilla and dried fruit, which is why extra añejos are usually enjoyed neat, like a fine cognac or whisky.

Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Caramel, vanilla and oak.

Palate: Caramel, vanilla and cooked agave.

Finish: Long and warming.

Specifications

Producer: Tonino Lamborghini

Style: Extra Añejo Tequila

Proof / ABV: 80 proof (40% ABV)

Cask / Finish: American whiskey barrels; lowland and highland agave, brick oven and autoclave

Region: Jalisco, Mexico

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat at room temperature.
