vamonos-riendo-mezcal-joven-ensamble-750ml
Vamonos Riendo Mezcal Joven Ensamble 750ml

Vamonos Riendo is a triple-distilled, high-altitude artesanal mezcal ensamble of Espadín and wild Tobalá from Oaxaca, bottled at 42% ABV.

Its name translates to let's go laughing. The mezcal brings together ancient techniques and artistry from several Oaxacan communities: eight-year-old Espadín from the Central Valleys and Tobalá matured fourteen years at around 6,000 to 6,500 feet in the Sierra Madre. The high-altitude palenque allows distillation at a lower temperature, preserving the aromatics, and triple distillation reveals remarkably bright flavours.

Fresh fruit, honey and herbal aromas come with a subtle black oak smokiness. The palate offers melon, pineapple, grapefruit and mandarin balanced by cocoa sweetness with mint and anise, and a long, velvety finish of caramel with a citrus bite.

Named Best Mezcal of the Year at the 2020 New York International Spirits Competition, it is a bright, joyful gift.

Sip it neat or chilled, or use it in a mezcal cocktail.

Mezcal is made by roasting agave hearts, traditionally in earthen pits, then crushing, fermenting and distilling them, a process that gives the spirit its characteristic smoky depth. Each agave variety and each village brings its own character, which is why enthusiasts love exploring small-batch bottlings.

Mezcal and other agave spirits are traditionally sipped from a copita or a small clay cup, in small sips, often alongside orange slices dusted with sal de gusano. Many are made in tiny batches by individual families, so each bottle is a snapshot of a particular place, agave and season.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Fresh fruit, honey, herbs and subtle black oak smoke.

Palate: Melon, pineapple, grapefruit and mandarin with cocoa, mint and anise.

Finish: Long, velvety caramel with a citrus bite.

Specifications

Producer: Vamonos Riendo

Style: Mezcal Artesanal Joven, Ensamble, triple distilled

Agave: Espadín (8 years) and Tobalá (14 years)

Proof / ABV: 84 proof (42% ABV)

Region: Oaxaca, Mexico

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat or lightly chilled, or mix a mezcal margarita.
