Courage & Conviction American Single Malt Whisky 750ml

Courage & Conviction is the flagship American single malt from Virginia Distillery Co. in Lovingston, Virginia, made from 100% malted barley and bottled at 46% ABV.

Its late founder, Dr. George G. Moore, would often say, have the courage of your conviction, and his vision to redefine American whisky was carried on by his family. The whisky is distilled in Scottish-made copper pot stills at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and aged over six years in sherry casks, bourbon barrels and European red wine STR cuvée casks. Virginia's hot summers and cool winters let it mature faster than in Scotland.

With notes of caramel and butterscotch, it evolves on the palate with bright red fruit, raspberry, cocoa, barrel spice and vanilla, and the finish is creamy and exceptionally smooth.

Winner of Double Gold at the 2020 SIP Awards and presented in its tube, it makes a fine gift.

Enjoy it neat or with a splash of water.

American whiskey covers a wide range of styles, from bourbon and rye to single malts and light whiskeys, and independent blenders and small producers have made it one of the most exciting categories in spirits.

American single malt whisky is made from 100% malted barley at a single distillery in the United States.

STR casks are wine barrels that are shaved, toasted and re-charred to unlock fresh oak flavour.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Caramel and butterscotch.

Palate: Red fruit, raspberry, cocoa, barrel spice and vanilla.

Finish: Creamy and exceptionally smooth.

Specifications

Producer: Virginia Distillery Co.

Style: American Single Malt Whisky

Mash Bill: 100% malted barley

Age: Over 6 years

Proof / ABV: 92 proof (46% ABV)

Cask / Finish: Sherry, bourbon and STR red wine cuvée casks

Region: Lovingston, Virginia, United States

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Enjoy it neat or with a splash of water.
