Its character is shaped heavily by a sherry hogshead, giving a decadent, lush whisky.

Westland is one of the pioneers of the American single malt category, committed to transparency about its whiskies, their grain and their casks. Its malt-forward house style is built on a five-malt barley bill and Pacific Northwest maturation.

Selected with cigars in mind, it is a perfect gift for the cigar and whisky lover.

Sip it neat alongside a fine cigar, adding a few drops of water if you like.

American whiskey covers a wide range of styles, from bourbon and rye to single malts and light whiskeys, and independent blenders and small producers have made it one of the most exciting categories in spirits.

American single malt whiskey is made from 100% malted barley, mashed, distilled and matured in the United States. A sherry hogshead, a cask of around 250 litres that once held sherry, brings dried fruit, raisin, chocolate and spice, which is why sherried whiskies are such a classic match for cigars.

Single cask bottlings are released at the strength they came out of the barrel, so a few drops of water can help open up the aromas.

Tasting Notes

Cask: Single cask 4443, sherry hogshead.

Profile: Decadent and lush.

Pairing: Selected to pair with premium cigars.

Specifications

Producer: Westland Distillery

Style: American Single Malt Whiskey, Single Cask

Expression / Batch: Cask No. 4443, Cuban Seed Cigar Co. selection

Proof / ABV: 105.8 proof (52.9% ABV)

Cask / Finish: Sherry hogshead

Region: Seattle, Washington, United States

Size: 700ml

How to Enjoy It

Sip it neat with a fine cigar.
