Its seasonal Distiller's Cut releases are small, cask-strength blends that explore different barrel finishes, and each season brings a new combination. This Summer release, conceived and blended by distiller Abbey Fife, combines two whiskies: an unsmoked single malt aged in new American white oak and finished in rhum agricole barrels, and a mesquite-smoked single malt aged in a used tequila barrel.

The pairing brings the grassy, tropical lift of rhum agricole casks and the agave character of a tequila barrel to the malt, with mesquite smoke woven through and the full depth of cask strength.

The dark Distiller's Cut label with its saguaro emblem makes it a fine gift for American single malt collectors.

Add a few drops of water to open it up.

American whiskey covers a wide range of styles, from bourbon and rye to single malts and light whiskeys, and independent blenders and small producers have made it one of the most exciting categories in spirits.

Tasting Notes

Base: Unsmoked single malt, new American oak, rhum agricole finish.

Smoke: Mesquite-smoked single malt from a used tequila barrel.

Strength: Cask strength, 104 proof.

Specifications

Producer: Whiskey Del Bac

Style: American Single Malt Whiskey, cask strength

Expression / Batch: Distiller's Cut, Summer Release

Proof / ABV: 104 proof (52% ABV)

Cask / Finish: Rhum agricole barrels and a used tequila barrel

Region: Tucson, Arizona, United States

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Serve it neat with a few drops of water.
