wray-nephew-white-overproof-rum-750ml
Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum 750ml

Wray & Nephew White Overproof is Jamaica's famous unaged rum, a molasses-based blend of pot and column still rums bottled at full strength, 126 proof (63% ABV).

Wray & Nephew is one of Jamaica's best-known rum houses, made by Wray & Nephew (Jamaica) Ltd, the same company behind Appleton Estate, and today part of Gruppo Campari. The White Overproof is a fixture of Jamaican life and its label promises guaranteed full strength.

The rum is made from molasses and distilled in both pot and column stills, then bottled unaged. It carries Jamaica's rum geographical indication, which protects how and where Jamaican rum is made. In 2024 it was named Best in Show at the TAG Spirits Awards.

Expect bright citrus and grassy, vegetal notes with the funky fruit of Jamaican pot still rum. The palate is very dry and powerful, and the finish is long and fiery, starting with a bitter edge and fading into ripe fruit.

Wray & Nephew Overproof is a bartender favorite for adding punch and character to tropical drinks. Use a measure in a Rum Punch with lime, sugar, grenadine and nutmeg, float it on top of a Mai Tai or a Zombie, or mix it with Ting grapefruit soda and lime for the classic Jamaican highball. A small splash brings life to a Daiquiri, and it works with ginger beer and lime for a bold Dark and Stormy-style drink. Because it is bottled at 63% ABV, always measure carefully and mix it with plenty of juice, soda or ice. It is a must-have for anyone serious about tiki and Caribbean cocktails, and a bottle that carries real Jamaican heritage.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Citrus, grass, pot still fruit.

Palate: Very dry, powerful, vegetal.

Finish: Long and fiery, fading fruity.

Specifications

Producer: Wray & Nephew (Jamaica) Ltd

Origin: Jamaica

Base: Molasses

Stills: Pot and column

Style: Unaged overproof white rum

Proof / ABV: 126 proof (63% ABV)

Size: 750ml

How to Enjoy It

Build a Rum Punch, or mix it with grapefruit soda and lime.

Frequently Asked Questions

How strong is it?
126 proof (63% ABV), guaranteed full strength.

Is it aged?
No, it is an unaged white rum.

How is it made?
From molasses, distilled in pot and column stills in Jamaica.

Explore more in our Rum collection.
