Aquilini Red Mountain Family Blend is a red blend from Aquilini's estate on Red Mountain, Washington's smallest wine appellation, bottled at 15.7% ABV.
It is the family's second wine, alongside their 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin.
The blend changes by vintage, built mostly on Cabernet Sauvignon with varying amounts of Syrah, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot.
Red Mountain's minimal rainfall, abundant sunshine, strong winds and large day-night temperature swings give powerful, structured reds.
Recent vintages earned 94 and 95 points from critics. Its dark bottle with the silver eagle makes it a handsome gift.
Good wine rewards a little care in serving. Whites and rosés show best chilled to around 45 to 50°F, while reds are at their most expressive slightly below room temperature, around 60 to 65°F. Opening the bottle and letting it breathe for a few minutes, or pouring it into a decanter, helps the aromas open up.

How to Enjoy It
Decant for an hour and serve at 16 to 18°C. Pair it with ribeye, lamb and aged cheddar. Store it on its side in a cool, dark place.
