Cascahuín Reposado is an additive-free tequila from the family-run Cascahuín distillery (NOM 1123) in El Arenal, Jalisco, made from 100% blue Weber agave and bottled at 84 proof (42% ABV).
Mature agave is slow-cooked in brick ovens, roller-milled and naturally fermented to preserve its varietal character. The tequila is double distilled in copper pot stills, then rested six to eight months in American oak, developing gentle vanilla, spice and sweet-oak tones while keeping the agave at the forefront.
The nose offers roasted agave, honey, vanilla and light citrus with toasted oak. The palate is a silky balance of cooked agave, caramel, baking spice and almond, and the finish is medium-long, with warm oak, pepper and lingering agave sweetness.
From one of tequila's most respected distilleries, it makes a fine gift.

Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
