Cascahuín Tahona Blanco is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the family-owned Tequila Cascahuín distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco, made with a stone tahona and bottled at 42% ABV.

Cascahuín (NOM 1123) is a fourth-generation family distillery run by the Rosales family in the Tequila Valley. For this expression the agave is cooked in traditional masonry ovens and crushed by a tahona, a large stone wheel, a slow, labour-intensive method that brings out deeper agave character. It is fermented in cement vats together with the agave fibres and double distilled in stainless and copper stills, with no additives.

It is earthy and vegetal, deeply expressive of the lowland Tequila Valley terroir, with rich cooked agave at its heart.

A benchmark tahona blanco, it makes a fine gift for tequila enthusiasts.

Sip it neat to taste the agave, or use it in a top-shelf margarita.

Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.

Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
