Gran Alambique Extra Añejo is a 100% blue agave extra añejo tequila presented in a decanter shaped like a copper alembic still, complete with a swan-neck pipe and coiled condenser. Made in Jalisco by the house behind Los Azulejos, it is double distilled, aged in American white oak barrels and bottled at 40% ABV.
Alambique is the Spanish word for the still, and the decanter pays tribute to the equipment at the heart of tequila making. Its gleaming copper body, tall curved neck and spiral coil make it a true display piece, and a small engraved plaque on the front carries the tequila's name.
The tequila is produced at NOM 1438 in Jalisco from 100% Weber blue agave. It is distilled twice in a stainless pot still fitted with a copper coil, then aged in American white oak for the extended period that defines the extra añejo category, which requires more than three years in barrel. That long rest in oak gives the tequila its deep amber colour.
Gran Alambique has been well received by tequila enthusiasts, scoring 93 in community ratings on Tequila Matchmaker. With its unmistakable still-shaped decanter, it is a conversation piece for a home bar and a memorable gift for any tequila lover.
