Casa Dragones Tequila Joven Pedro Reyes Artist Edition brings together one of Mexico's most admired sipping tequilas and the work of renowned Mexican artist Pedro Reyes. The crystal decanter is hand-engraved with Reyes's sculpture "Epicuro", rendered in pepita, the traditional Mexican technique of glass engraving, and each bottle is individually numbered and signed on its label.
Casa Dragones Joven is a blend of 100% blue agave silver tequila with a touch of extra-aged tequila matured in new American oak barrels. The result is a crystal-clear tequila with remarkable smoothness, combining the fresh, bright character of agave with a subtle roundness and depth from the aged component. It is made in small batches and bottled at 40% ABV.
Pedro Reyes first collaborated with Casa Dragones in 2016, exploring pepita engraving with an etching of "Epicuro". In this edition the line drawing of the sculpture's face appears both on the decanter, which is closed with a crystal stopper and a black ribbon, and on the bright blue presentation box. Hand-finished, numbered and signed, it is as much a work of art as a bottle of tequila.
Casa Dragones is a boutique tequila house from San Miguel de Allende, and its Artist Edition series pairs its tequilas with leading Mexican artists. These releases are produced in very small numbers, which has made them prized by collectors of both fine spirits and contemporary Mexican art.
