Yamazaki 12 Year is Suntory's flagship single malt and a benchmark for Japanese whisky. Soft fruit, citrus and spice make it an approachable introduction to the category.
Yamazaki comes from Japan's first and oldest malt distillery. The 12 Year Old was the first Japanese whisky to win Gold at the International Spirits Challenge in 2003. In 2024 it was named Supreme Champion Spirit at the same competition, the first time Yamazaki 12 Years Old received that honor.
The whisky is matured in a combination of American, Spanish and Japanese oak and bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV).
