No. 209 Barrel Reserve Cabernet is a San Francisco gin from Distillery No. 209, rested 213 days in medium-toasted French oak casks that previously held Rudd Cabernet Sauvignon, bottled at 46% ABV.
The barrels come from the distillery's sister winery, Rudd Oakville Estate in Napa Valley. The gin was reduced to 55% ABV before filling to limit oak extraction.
The notes are toffee, caramel and spice on the nose, sweet citrus and subtle red wine on the palate, and a long finish of cassia, clove, ginger and black pepper.
