The Couture Blend is a limited edition from Johnnie Walker Vault, created with Balmain's creative director Olivier Rousteing. It is limited to 1,500 individually numbered decanters worldwide.
The Johnnie Walker Vault is a bespoke blending atelier beneath the Johnnie Walker Princes Street flagship in Edinburgh. This is the second collaboration between the Vault and Rousteing, with blender Emma Walker developing the whisky.
The blend brings together ten rare whiskies from ten distilleries, including ghost distilleries Port Dundas and Caledonian and a Port Ellen ghost cask, alongside Benrinnes, Cragganmore, Teaninich and Roseisle. Roseisle, matured in former wine barrels, adds fruity, tropical flavors; Teaninich brings spicy chocolate malt with a tonka character; the Port Ellen cask adds a smoky layer. It is bottled at 89.6 proof (44.8% ABV) in 700ml. The decanter is architectural crystal with pronounced shoulders, an oversized cap and a gold finish, shaped as a nod to the square Johnnie Walker bottle.
