Laphroaig Cairdeas White Port and Madeira 700ml

Laphroaig Càirdeas 2023 is an Islay single malt double matured in Madeira and white port casks, bottled at a fixed 52.3% ABV (104.6 proof).

Three quarters of the whisky matured in second-fill Madeira casks and the rest in white port casks. It was made for Friends of Laphroaig and the Feis Ile festival, and Càirdeas is Gaelic for friendship.

The color is soft burnished gold.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Cinnamon, fresh ginger, green apple, toasted peach and charred orange peel, with caramelised sugar and bonfire embers.
• Palate: Honey sweetness, citrus, hazelnut, oak tannins and dark chocolate leading into iodine-rich smoke.
• Finish: Sweet and smooth with earthy peat, creosote and a touch of sea salt.
