Compass Box The Peat Monster Cask Strength Origin Story Limited Edition 700 ml

Compass Box The Peat Monster Cask Strength Origin Story is a 2023 limited release marking the 20th anniversary of Peat Monster, bottled at 56.7% ABV (113.4 proof) in 9,126 bottles worldwide.

The story traces to 2003, when Jonathan Goldstein of Park Avenue Liquor in New York asked founder John Glaser for a peated whisky as a store exclusive, which led to a wider release in 2004.

The blend combines Islay malt from Williamson and Caol Ila matured in refill American oak hogsheads, bourbon barrels and refill puncheons, with a small Highland malt component in heavily toasted French oak; about half was finished for a few months in American oak. The label shows New York imagery by an American artist.
