Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 is a Tennessee whiskey at 80 proof, one of the best-selling whiskeys in the world. It is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before it ever sees a barrel.
It is made at the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, using iron-free water from the Cave Spring on the distillery grounds.
The grain bill is corn, rye and malted barley; sources commonly give 80% corn, 12% barley and 8% rye. The new whiskey drips through about ten feet of sugar maple charcoal in the Lincoln County Process, then matures in charred new American oak barrels. It is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
