Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a vatted malt of Yoichi and Miyagikyo whiskies, named for the founder who brought Scottish whisky-making expertise to Japan.
Masataka Taketsuru was the first Japanese to master whisky-making in Scotland. Nikka calls this a tribute from his successors.
The blend balances peatier, coal-fired Yoichi malts with lighter, fruitier Miyagikyo malts, with sherry butts, bourbon barrels and new American oak. It is a no-age-statement bottling at 43%.
