1800 Reposado is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Casa Cuervo, rested in new American and French oak barrels and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
1800 Tequila comes from the house of Cuervo, whose roots were planted in 1758 by José Antonio de Cuervo y Valdés, and it is made at Casa Cuervo under NOM 1122. The 1800 Reposado is one of the most recognized reposados in the world.
It is crafted from matured 100% Weber blue agave, eight to twelve years old, grown in volcanic soil and handpicked at peak maturity. A special selection of white tequilas is then rested in new American and French oak barrels, which gives the reposado its rich character and bright honey color.
The aroma is oaky agave. On the palate come notes of buttery caramel, mild spices and a touch of smokiness, and the finish brings sweet orange peel, white pepper and marzipan.
Perfect mixed in a cocktail, sipped neat or on the rocks, it is a smooth, versatile reposado for a quality Margarita, a Paloma or a Tequila Old Fashioned.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
