1921 Blanco is a double-distilled tequila made from 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
The piñas are slow-cooked for 72 hours before careful fermentation and distillation. Each bottle is sealed with wax by hand and carries an elegant label and a hand-painted clay medallion, symbols of Mexico's rich history and traditions.
It is bright and crystal clear, with thin tears that slide slowly down the glass. The aroma brings sweet agave and freshly cut herbs with citrus nuances, and the flavor is delicate and harmonious, concentrating the sweetness of agave with a fruity twist and a clean, balanced citrus aftertaste. The mouthfeel is velvety.
The hand-finished bottle makes it a lovely gift.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
