2BAR Spirits is a family-owned Seattle distillery that mills, mashes, ferments, distills and ages locally grown grain on site, with one goal in mind: make a damn fine whiskey. Its six-grain mash bill is 100% grown in the Pacific Northwest. For this cross-border collaboration, Sons of Vancouver in British Columbia aged its amaretto in used 2BAR Bottled-in-Bond bourbon barrels, and 2BAR then rested its straight bourbon in those amaretto barrels.
Maple, vanilla and toasted oak lead the nose. The amaretto finish adds a touch of sweetness and nuttiness that complements butterscotch, vanilla, cherry and chocolate, with a subtle almond note running through.
