818 Añejo is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila from Jalisco, aged over a year in a blend of French and American oak barrels and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
818 Tequila was founded by Kendall Jenner and is named for the area code of her California hometown. Jenner spent almost four years on a journey to create the best-tasting tequila, traveling to agave farms; 818 works closely with local, family-owned farms in Jalisco, handcrafts its tequila in small batches and puts sustainability and supply-chain transparency at its core. The añejo is barrel-aged over a year for a full-bodied spirit with shiny golden reflections and bronze hues.
It has a dark amber color and aromas of caramel and almond, with a sweet agave flavor of roasted vanilla bean, toffee and crisp herbal notes, and a very long, silky-smooth, warm vanilla finish.
The bold black-and-white label makes it a stylish gift.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
