Aberlour 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in which the crisp, citrus character of Aberlour's new spirit is softened by double cask maturation in traditional oak and seasoned sherry butts, bottled at 40% ABV.
Aberlour is made in the village of Aberlour at the foot of Ben Rinnes, along the River Spey, in homage to founder James Fleming. The mellowed spirits from ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks are combined to give a subtly balanced flavour.
Golden amber with hints of ruby, it is soft and rounded on the nose with fruity notes of red apple. The palate shows a fine sherried character, with fruity aromas balanced by rich chocolate, and the finish is warm and lingering, sweet and spicy.
Winner of Double Gold at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, it is a classic gift for Scotch lovers.
Enjoy it neat, on the rocks or with a little water.
Scotch whisky must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, and any age statement on the label refers to the youngest whisky in the bottle.
A single malt Scotch whisky is made from 100% malted barley at a single distillery in Scotland and aged at least three years in oak casks.
Speyside, along the River Spey, is home to more distilleries than any other Scotch whisky region.
