Amor Mio Gran Reserva Añejo is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila aged for 24 months in French and American oak, presented in a striking hand-painted black ceramic bottle. It is bottled at 40% ABV in limited edition.
Amor Mio is known for its decorative ceramic bottles, and the Gran Reserva's black vessel, painted with a golden agave emblem, is one of its most elegant designs. Two years in oak, double the minimum for an añejo, gives the tequila a deep golden amber colour and a rich, dessert-like character.
The nose offers vanilla, cinnamon, hazelnut, dried fruit, maple, caramel and oak. On the palate come caramelised agave, prune, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and soft spice, leading to a long, velvety finish of warm oak, cocoa and lingering sweet spice.
Displayed in its black presentation case, it makes a dramatic gift and a beautiful addition to any collection.
Sip it neat from a snifter to enjoy its richness.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
