Anger MGMT Silver is a 100% blue agave craft tequila from the hills of Los Altos de Jalisco, made at NOM 1468 and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
It comes from the same distillery that makes acclaimed tequilas like Lalo and Alquimia, Grupo Tequilero México in the Jalisco Highlands. The agave is cooked in stone and brick ovens, extracted with a roller mill, fermented as 100% agave in stainless steel tanks with deep well water, then distilled. The brand's bold name and painted-skull label make it a conversation starter.
It shows clean agave character with cooked and raw agave, earth and minerals, a whiff of sweetness, hints of lime and butter, and a quick finish with black pepper.
The black bottle with its blue agave artwork makes it a fun gift.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
Serve it with a slice of lime and a pinch of salt.
It makes a crisp Ranch Water.
