Barrell Craft Spirits, founded in Louisville in 2013, sources aged whiskey from multiple distilleries and applies its own blending and finishing programmes. The Cigar Blend layers four distinct finishes over well-aged bourbon: Madeira for oxidative dried fruit, Armagnac for brandy depth, rum for tropical sweetness and new Hungarian oak for roasted spice and structure, creating a robust pour built to stand up to a cigar but equally rewarding on its own.
The nose brings dark fruit, roasted coffee, toffee and oak spice with a subtle sweetness, and the palate offers dried fruit, caramelised sugar and tobacco spice with lingering oak depth.

Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.
